Use this Change It Yourself course at Cambridge Regional College to gain an insight into the Construction leisure courses and progress onto another course such as Woodcrafts, Brick Basics or Plumbing.
Programme Structure
The course consists of:
- Health and safety in the home and workshop
- Familiarisation of the tools, workshop and tool card
- Learning about second fix carpentry including door (hinges/locks), architrave and skirting
- Kitchens and bathrooms - practise ceramic tiling including cutting, grouting and drilling tiles
- Building in brick, finding principles, laying out and try levelling a wall
- Some basic plumbing using Pushfit pipes and connectors
