This Intensive and High Dependency Care of the Newborn short course at the University of Bedfordshire also covers the delivery of cutting edge complex therapies within the clinical environment.
It is also a requirement by NHS trusts that staff working on Local Neonatal Units (LNU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) have completed this unit to evidence the acquisition of the necessary skills and knowledge required to deliver quality care to the newborn.
Programme Structure
The aims of this course are to:- Equip the student with the knowledge and skills required to deliver care for the sick newborn infant and their family within the intensive care setting
- Develop the skills of critical analysis to ensure evidence based practice care is delivered
- Develop the skills of reflection that support lifelong learning, and career progression
