History

The University of Bedfordshire was established in August 2006 by order of the Privy Council, following the merger between the University of Luton and De Montfort University's Bedford campus.

Research

Our 11 Research Institutes impact UK and European agendas across health, energy and technology, and social policy.

We won the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2013 in recognition of our pioneering research. This is the highest form of national recognition for universities in the UK.

Our research subjects range from organ donation to cyberstalking to smart city development to Parkinson's disease and much more.

Career

92% of Bedfordshire students who graduated last year have found jobs or are in further study – the highest figure achieved by the University.(Destination of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE)2013 survey).

DLHE 2013 also shows the number of Bedfordshire students who left the University last year and are now in graduate level employment – professional and managerial roles – increased, by over 8% to 73.5%.

Sports facilities

Bedfordshire Bulls is the name for all of the competitive sports teams that represent the University of Bedfordshire, ran by the Students’ Union.Established in 2012, we have over 40 teams and over 500 students competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues, as well as other national competitions and leagues.

At Beds SU we have a society for everyone, whatever your interests, and with the number of societies growing each year there is now more choice than ever. Whether it be making new friends or learning new skills there are endless benefits to joining a society.Societies are created and run by students committees who society members elect on an annual basis. Your membership fees go directly into the Society's account to help develop the Society in whatever way the members think is best: equipment, events, guest speakers, trips - you decide! Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities for societies to gain extra funding so keep a look out!!

SITAL College is registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago and offers approved programmes from the following awarding institutions: University of Bedfordshire, University of Hertfordshire, the Association of Business Executives and the Association of Business Managers and Administrators.
