  • You will develop strategies to assess risk and monitoring signs for self-harm, suicide, relapse and deterioration in mental health, as well as develop practices and roles that are appropriate to patient and service need underpinning key policy drivers on mental health, physical health, mental capacity and decision making

This course will cover a wide range of topics including:

  • risk assessment
  • monitoring for self-harm, suicide, relapse and deterioration in mental health
  • impact of mental health on families, friends and social network
  • inter-professional working and collaboration with mental health and social services
  • use of screening tools such as Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and trauma screening questionnaire
  • common medications used and their side effects
