Hanyang University took its first step as Dong-A Engineering Institute on July 1st, 1939. It was the period in which the Japanese were making frantic efforts in pursuing their extensive policies to liquidate all of Korean history and heritage and assimilate them into that of the Japanese.

The Career Services Center supports career exploration for students and alumni. A broad base of information, individual career counseling, and resume writing assistance enables students to make clear career choices and help them discover employment possibilities. The Center provides information, advice, and support, and offers a variety of career programs related to job hunting and employment. Patrons can also find ways to explore values, goals, skills, and experiences in order to identify their areas of interest.
Each room includes a bed ( two beds for the twin size room - one double bed & one single bed for the family size room), cabinet -closet, TV, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, stove, air - conditioner, computer with internet access, telephone and kitchenware.
The ERICA Campus Library (Ansan Academic Information Center & Library) opened in 1980. It occupies an area of 12,500m^2 and can accommodate 2,733 seats. The Library contains about 600,000 books, various multimedia materials, and 304 computers for on-line catalog and database searching as well as Internet browsing.
The Hanyang Medical Center in, Guri opened in October 1995 with 503 beds and a staff of highly trained medical specialists. The hospital is equipped with high-tech medical equipment and resources.
The Office of Sports Activities was established in 1961 and has been helping to produce nationally renowned athletes and leaders in the field, playing major roles in the development of Korean physical education. The Office has modern facilities and a Korean style lounge where athletes can rest, use the sauna, and a weight room for strength training.
