History

Università Cattolica was founded in Milan in 1921.

That first year, there were 68 students enrolled on the first two courses: Philosophical Sciences and Social Sciences. Today, with 40.000 students and 12 Schools, Università Cattolica has become the largest non-state institution in Europe.

Education

Università Cattolica offers opportunities for the professional and personal growth of the student, through workshops, English-taught as well as Italian-taught programs, along with an internship or a service learning experience in Milan.

Research

  • Among the different researches conducted by Cattolica Faculty members, 7 projects have been turned into actual companies in order to use the results in an effective way.
  • Over 60% of scientific papers are published in English.
  • 31,5 million € funding for research activities, 88% of which come from industry and institutions

And our range of campus facilities and services ensures that every international student has access to all of the support, information and mentoring which international students seek. These include a dedicated international student center, a housing service, health center, sports facilities and international student associations. From the first day at Cattolica, students will not only feel part of our University, but will be a welcome part of our community.

International Student Services (ISS)

This is the international student’s home away from home. And the first place of assistance for international students before, during and after their experience in Cattolica.

Housing services

Milano International Living Service (MIL Service) was founded in 2007 in order to respond to the high demand for housing: every year more and more students come to Milan from all around the world to spend a semester or a whole year studying at one of the most prestigious universities in Milan. MIL Service allows its customers to focus on their academic life, while leaving the housing related matters to its care. The housing options provided by MIL Service makes it possible to fully experience the new international student life by introducing the student to the reality of a real citizen: live MILAN while living In Milan.

The library which contains over 2,000,000 volumes.

ICT services

Computer halls around campus allow for internet access either on fixed desktops or personal laptops (wall connection or Wi-Fi if available). 17 computer rooms are usually open all day until 9:00 PM. Cattolica provides wi-fi in areas of the main building. Some areas of the main cloisters have wi-fi from 7.00 am until 10.00pm.

Medical services

There is a Health Centre on campus which provides all registered students with medical and nursing care, and psychological counselling. If students require medical assistance, they may contact the International Student Services who will arrange an appointment with the Health Centre and make sure an English speaking nurse will be available if needed.

Campus life

The University’s Milan campus is home to over 27,000 students, its Doric and Ionic cloisters provide a haven of peace and grace.

The University’s beautiful campus in Piacenza includes a small facility in nearby Cremona.

The Brescia campus is a hidden jewel. Once experienced, never forgotten. Whilst a small campus, the location is unforgettable. Although the campus has only 3,700 students, it is a world-leader in such fields as Mathematics and Physics, and enjoys a stellar reputation in such fields as Linguistics and Theater.

The Rome campus is home to Cattolica’s School of Medicine and Surgery, plus the campus is proud to host its School of Economics.

Sports facilities

CUS

Centro Universitario Sportivo (CUS) is an association that promotes sport and physical education for university students in Milan.

GetFIT

A trendy gymnasium located just 5 minutes walking distance from Cattolica Milan campus, boasts added value with a sauna, swimming pool and squash courts. Special gym subscriptions are available to Cattolica international students.

Student clubs

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is an invaluable support network for international students. They organize numerous social and cultural events, tours and recreational activities.
