About

History

In response to increasing international demand for the experiences of the Bouwcentrum, an international training wing was established in 1958 to provide international education and transfer knowledge and expertise to professionals from developing countries, seeking solutions in housing and construction sectors.

Education

You will learn from highly skilled lecturers and guest lecturers from all over the world, through a unique methodology of real case study analyses, games, class debates and more.

Research

Since 1976, IHS has worked on projects overseas, providing advisory services to an array of stakeholders including governments, organisations and institutions. The institute also works on contracts for local and national government clients. Services in this area include policy-level support, aid in citywide strategic development and participatory processes.

The approach IHS uses to tackle the problems faced in reducing poverty and improving the quality of life in cities is based on the cross-fertilization of three activities: education, advisory services and research.
