Learning Goals
The participants in the Draw-Design-Build course at TU Berlin will develop their creative, practical and professional skills through creative experimentation and the process of making.
- Comprehensive spatial and structural understanding of Berlin
- Basic and advanced hand drawing techniques
- Visual communication tools such as perspective, isometry, diagram, and others
- Knowledge of visual analytical methods
- Development of design, detailing and material knowledge
- Developing skills in craftsmanship
Programme Structure
Main course components:- Lectures / seminars
- Field trips where the knowledge will be implemented and developed further
- Excursions where special spaces in Berlin and surrounding will be analyzed, drawn and discussed

General requirements
- Participants of the TU Berlin Summer University must meet the following requirements: (i) B2 level English, or equivalent and (ii) at least one year of university experience.
- The willingness to work in a team is a precondition. Students may be required to work longer hours depending on project progress.
- No pre-existing knowledge of hand-drawing is required to take part in the course. Enthusiasm for hand-drawing and learning a new skill is welcome.
- The participants will be involved in an intensive building process guided by a professional craftsman.
