Overview
This Immediate Life Support (ILS) course at Anglia Ruskin University has been developed in order to standardise much of the in-hospital training undertaken already by resuscitation training officers (RTOs).
Features
Its aim is to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simple airway management and safe defibrillation (manual and/or AED), enabling them to manage patients in cardiac arrest until arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team.
Programme Structure
Course content:- The course is run over one day and consists of lectures and practical stations. Assessment is continuous in nature.
- Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS Certificate valid for one year.
- The ILS course is recognised for up to five continuing professional development (CPD) points. Exceptionally able candidates may be nominated for ILS training by the faculty.
