General requirements

  • When applying, you must provide evidence of your original registration. You'll also need to have access to a relevant area of practice, to undertake the clinical practice element of the course and achieve clinical competencies.
You should also:
  • have a satisfactory enhanced DBS
  • be able to provide a professional reference and have occupational health clearance
  • be able to demonstrate that you have capability to meet the NMC requirements on numeracy, literacy, and digital and technological literacy
  • demonstrate that you meet NMC English language requirements.
  • Prior to application, you are strongly advised to have gained healthcare support worker experience in your field of practice in an Acute NHS Trust (for at least six months).
