The START Course - Simulated Transfer and Retrieval Training is a one-day multidisciplinary course for all those who deal with critically ill patients requiring transfer - anaesthetists, intensivists, ODPs, critical care nurses and emergency medical personnel.
Programme Structure
The course includes:- a full day of simulated practice of transferring critically ill patients in our high-fidelity simulation suite
- a systematic approach to transfer, for both real life and exams
- inter- and intra-hospital transfers
- time-critical and non time-critical transfers
- preparation of patients, transfer and reception
- management of critical incidents en route
- feedback on practical and human factor aspects
