Overview
What you will study
All POA practitioners need to be able to adeptly manage the broad range of challenging situations that can arise before, during, and after a hearing.
Now in its 12th year, this intensive, hands-on certificate program will give you the knowledge and practical skills you need for effective POA advocacy.
Led by The Hon. Justice Rick Libman, our expert faculty of judges, justices of the peace and senior practitioners will take you through the key stages of a POA file from start to finish. These include meeting your client for the first time, reviewing disclosure, preparing for and conducting the trial, making submissions on sentencing, and appeals.
You’ll get a comprehensive overview of the relevant law and practice all while enjoying the benefits of flexible asynchronous learning. Learn at your own pace and have on-demand access to three days’ worth of presentations and group discussions.
