Overview
Working in fully-equipped workshops, you’ll also learn about wood finishing and how changes in culture and lifestyle affect furniture. In addition, in this Furniture course at City of Glasgow College you’ll gain experience in both modern and traditional methods of furniture production.
After the course
- If successful, you may be taken on as a trainee by a furniture firm, or even go into self-employment.
- Students can go on to study the HNC/D in Furniture Craftsmanship with Design and HNC/D Furniture Restoration here at the college.

Minimum entry requirements
- Two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
