Robert Gordon's mercantile adventures founded a strong and remarkably modern belief that his investment in the education of his townsfolk would equip them with the skills and knowledge to strengthen their success in Europe and further afield.
Today, more than 260 years after his death, the University which bears his name remains true to his spirit and enterprise.

Housing services
We are committed to providing safe, secure and affordable accommodation for our students. Our flats have been designed with your needs in mind.
Halls is a great choice for university accommodation, especially if you’re moving away from home for the first time, or are new to Aberdeen. All our units are in great locations, within a short walk or quick bus trip to campus - and with easy access to everything else. Most importantly, our halls are full of people just like you, who might be anxious about moving away from home for the first time, and who are keen to make new friends and start to enjoy the full experience of university life.Library services
Located at the heart of the campus, you can’t miss the striking green glass Library tower. There are four floors of books and journals, computers and study space for you to make use of.
ICT services
All workstations are linked together by a communications network that connects them to centrally delivered services and to the Internet via the JANET network. Centrally managed servers deliver file storage, print facilities, Internet access and email facilities to all users. To support teaching and research activities we also deliver several hundred software applications
Medical services
Disability and Dyslexia Centre - We have many years’ experience of supporting students with dyslexia, sensory and mobility impairments, mental health difficulties, medical conditions, autism spectrum disorders and temporary impairments, such as broken limbs.
Treehouse Early Care Centre - a purpose built facility that provides high quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Campus life
Robert Gordon University's 'Masterplan' is a £120 million campus development project at our Garthdee campus which provides all of our students and staff with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities.
This includes a brand new library, and formal and informal learning and social spaces for students. The first phase was open for business in September 2013 giving the university and our local community some of the best facilities in the UK.
Sports facilities
Robert Gordon University has invested over £11 million in a state-of-the-art sports facility, which sees a dramatic improvement in sporting infrastructure available for the region and also acts as a social hub for the Garthdee campus.

Happy with my choice
I am very satisfied with my teaching and learning experience at RGU. The staff are all really lovely and easy to talk to. The module is really clearly set out and the learning materials are easy to access. There is always additional classes for revision or support on various topics you may have issues with such as referencing.
Solid MSc at RGU
I completed an MSc in Information Systems on campus at Robert Gordon University. The lecturers were very knowledgeable about their areas of expertise. It was very easy to ask for help and support, and tutors were very responsive. Overall, I was very satisfied with the course and the university. I would recommend Robert Gordon University to any prospective students.
Parking is a pain if you're planning to drive
Good uni, the parking is a joke though having to purchase a permit and still pay for parking within that barely anyone getting allowed a permit with so many free spaces left over. The range of food on campus not the best but more than what most places have which is nice
