London Film School Overview

Student services

The Office for Students (OfS) is the independent regulator for Higher Education in England. Their aim is to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

Library services

The Library at LFS serves as both an archive and a resource hub, supporting students’ creative and research needs.

Alongside documenting the School’s own productions—many of which screen at over 200 international film festivals each year and are sold to broadcasters and distributors—the library offers a curated collection of films and books. Students also benefit from access to the nearby BFI Reuben Library.

Campus life

Our MA programmes are taught from our newly fitted out Parker Street campus, where film studios, design studios, edit suites, and teaching spaces sit alongside the School’s professional services – all under one roof.

The building is 300 yards from Holborn tube station and sits atop The Garden Cinema, London’s exciting new three-screen arthouse cinema, providing students with a unique link to the city’s thriving film culture.

Just a five-minute walk away is our Shelton Street building – home to LFS for 60 years. Studios and facilities there were built in part by former students, including filmmaker Mike Leigh. Shelton Street houses the School’s recently refurbished cinemas, shooting stages, rehearsal spaces, teaching rooms, and Outreach facilities, all just 50 yards from Covent Garden tube station.

Student clubs

All LFS students have access to the LSE Student Union membership. There are a huge number of clubs and societies that you can join as well impressive sports and gym facilities. The clubs and societies allow a chance to connect with other students and join their social events, as well as access to both of the LSE SU buildings in the southwest corner of Lincolns Inn Fields.

The campus offers cafés, social areas, study spaces, and rooms available for booking or hire. Students can also access a rehearsal studio, a large sports hall, squash courts, and even an on-site pub. In total, there are over 250 societies within LSESU, with thousands of students actively involved.

What Really Made Me Who I'm Today.

I haven't always been the man I am today. Actually, if you had met me years ago, you probably wouldn't recognize the boy who stood unsure, quiet, and afraid to take up space. My story starts in the midst of doubt, lessons, and a turn or two that would shape my strength. I learned early that life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect. Some doors get closed before I could even touch them, while others opened when I was not ready. But each moment, even hard ones, carried a lesson. Each challenge pushed me to grow into someone more resilient. There were people who believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. Their encouragement taught me the value of support. And there were people who walked away, teaching me the importance of standing on my own two feet.
