Tallinn Summer School

. Guided by faculty members from a variety of disciplines, students are exposed to new ways of thinking. In summer 2013, 49 different countries were represented, bringing together 320 students in 18 subject-specific courses.
The school’s ambiance is always casual and relaxed, yet still concentrates on a scholastic approach. A student body with a wide diversity of opinions and experiences is assured. Each year,the school revises and develops its program to include new and relevant topics. For example, the 2010 Summer School explored the subject of globalisation, which led to one of the founders of Postcolonial Theory, professor Gayatri Spivak from Columbia University, USA, coming to Tallinn. Her lecture and also an interview can be downloaded from Tallinn University’s website (Tallinn Virtual University).Studies at Tallinn Winter School are supplemented by a program of cultural and social events. The language of instruction is English and all courses last from one to three weeks.
